REVIVAL OF UKRAINIAN CULTURE AT THE DEPARTMENT OF MUSICAL FOLKLORE OF THE RIVNE STATE HUMANITARIAN UNIVERSITY

Abstract

The article presents materials about the Department of Musical Folklore of the Institute of Arts of RSHU, one of the few in Ukraine, which was formed into a modern, educational, scientific and educational-methodical center of traditional folk musical culture of the Western region of Ukraine. During the formation of the Department, there were many changes and events related to the training of specialists, their involvement in research and creative work. Over the entire period of the Department’s activity, more than 700 specialists have been trained, who work in many art and educational institutions of our country, and have proven themselves as team leaders, winners of international competitions and festivals of folk art, scientists and researchers of the musical creativity of their people. The university teachers of the Department of Musical Folklore have high experience in pedagogical work, educate qualified specialists in the field of national musical folklore, collectors of the song-instrumental tradition of the Ukrainian people. The Department is one of the best in Ukraine in training performers and researchers of traditional folk music. The Department is working on the complex scientific topic “Ethnomusical culture of Western Ukraine” (scientific supervisor, docent R.I. Dzvinka) and the scientific project “Preservation of Realities of Folk Music Heritage of Polissia” approved by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine is being implemented. With the participation of university teachers and students in our region, numerous folklore expeditions have been conducted, folklore collections, teaching aids, methodical recommendations are published, studio stock recordings are made, broadcasts on radio and television, report concerts, creative evenings are held.
