FEATURES OF TEACHING A FOREIGN LANGUAGE FOR PROFESSIONAL PURPOSES FOR STUDENTS FOR THE SPECIALTY “PHYSICAL THERAPY” IN HIGHER EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENTS

Abstract

The article deals with the peculiarities of teaching a foreign language for professional purposes for students majoring in Physical Therapy in higher educational establishments in the conditions of modern society. Attention is focused on the use of modern teaching methods that contribute to the effective learning of specialised English by students.The factors that influence the level of students' motivation to learn English are investigated. The meth- ods of teaching English to students majoring in Physical Therapy and the peculiarities of assessing theirknowledge are considered.The key aspects of the development of students' monologue and dialogue skills are identified. The devel- opment of such skills in students is possible subject to certain principles. The principle of accessibility implies that the learning material should be understandable to students. The principle of integration ofEnglish with professional disciplines ensures the link between language training and specialised profes-sional knowledge.It is proved that the course of professional English is a complex discipline that combines the study of spelling, grammar, vocabulary and punctuation.Particular attention is paid to the current challenges in teaching and learning professional English bystudents of higher educational establishments.The ways of improving and developing teaching professional English are highlighted.It has been found that quality training of specialists is multidimensional, and teaching English for pro- fessional purposes develops not only language but also professional competences, which is the basis for a successful career.It is emphasised that learning English for professional purposes is the key to improving skills and com- petitiveness in the international arena.It is noted that improving the teaching of professional English in higher educational establishments is an important task of state policy, which contributes to building an effective education system in accordance with modern world standards. Mastering professional English is a priority area of educational activity. This allows you to improve your level of both spoken and professional English.
