SOCIO-ECONOMIC ENVIRONMENT OF INTERNATIONAL INVESTMENTS: SUBJECTIVE AND OBJECTIVE DIMENSIONS FROM THE STANDPOINT OF INSTITUTIONAL AND LEGAL REGULATION

Abstract

The relevance of the article is predetermined by needs and opportunities to provide a favorable institutional and legal environment by Ukraine in order to attract foreign investments during the war and post-war period for the purpose of economic reconstruction and development. The aim of the article is to study subjective and objective measurements of socio-economic environment of international investments from the standpoint of institutional and legal regulation; to justify importance of qualitative institutional and legal regulation of economic activity to increase the level of investment attractiveness of Ukraine. Historical and logic methods were applied in the article in order to highlight the current state of attracting foreign investments to Ukraine; mathematical methods were applied to estimate influence of foreign investments on macroeconomic indicators; methods of comparison and generalization were used to classify measurements of socio-economic environment of international investments into subjective and objective. It was highlighted that attracting of foreign capital is critical for Ukraine during the war and post-war period. The article substantiates the point of view that insignificant amount of money can be contributed even to undeveloped economies (with a small level of institutional development and economic activity legal regulation) by foreign investors but production of final products, development of capital and intellectually capacious economy sectors the are impossible without qualified legislation integrated into the European legal field. The research relies on an interdisciplinary approach, which demonstrates how economic and legal methods may be combined to achieve scientific and practical results. The main research results include the division of international investments socio-economic environment dimensions into subjective and objective. The research offers practical guidelines for government officials, lawyers, economists, financiers and analysts to improve the Ukraine legislation in order to increase the state investment attractiveness level.
