FOOD SECURITY AS A STRATEGIC PRIORITY OF AGRICULTURAL ENTERPRISES MANAGEMENT

Abstract

The article examines food security as a strategic priority of agricultural enterprise management in the context of modern challenges, in particular global economic crises, climate change, military conflicts and instability of agricultural markets. The main threats to Ukraine's food security are identified, including climate risks, geopolitical tensions, dependence on imported resources and instability of the financial system. It is proven that effective management of agricultural enterprises should play a key role in minimizing these risks and ensuring the stability of the agri-food complex. Particular attention is paid to considering strategic approaches to the management of agricultural enterprises that contribute to increasing the level of food security. The possibilities of implementing innovative technologies, such as precision agriculture, digitalization of management processes, use of big data and automated product quality control systems, are analyzed. It is determined that the use of modern technologies contributes to increasing production efficiency, reducing crop losses and optimizing costs, which, in turn, strengthens the resilience of agricultural enterprises to external challenges. The issue of diversification of production and reducing dependence on imports of agricultural raw materials, fertilizers, seeds and equipment is separately considered. The importance of developing domestic production to ensure the sustainable functioning of the agro-industrial complex is emphasized. It is noted that the diversification of agricultural products, in particular the development of organic farming, is an important element of ensuring long-term food security. The article also considers social aspects of food security, including ensuring access to high-quality food products for the population, the development of the cooperative movement and increasing the level of social responsibility of agricultural enterprises. The need for state support for the agricultural sector through financing innovations, infrastructure development and stimulating investments in the production of environmentally friendly products is emphasized.
